When it’s time to relax and unwind

Sometimes, dear reader, I have a hard time falling asleep. You may also. So, I found a few relaxing videos to watch on Youtube that demonstrate Swedish massage and foot reflexology, along with Yoga Nidra. More on that after the vids:

(Victoria Sprigg is an excellent therapist)

(Foot reflexology, highly recommended)

The above videos are only the first part in each series, but the rest are easily found in Youtube. Puts me to sleep really quickly.

So, more on Yoga Nidra. It’s an interesting practice where you don’t actually move. Rather, it’s more of a sleep-like state that can bring about a sense of relaxation and ease tension. All you need is a place to lie down and a blanket. Since you’re still for a very long time you can get pretty cold, so remember the blanket or at least some socks.  Aurora (the queen of transformation) has a very soothing voice, and it’s a wonderful feeling to fall asleep to, that sense of relaxation and calmness.

Parts 2 and 3 are located on Aurora’s channel.

In this day and age, going to a spa and treating yourself to a steam bath or facial can get pretty pricey. Treat yourself to a spa day at home. A container of soothing and relaxing bubble bath with essential oils is at most a few dollars, spa grade facial masques can be found quite inexpensively too. I found a wonderful cucumber facial masque at Wal Mart on the cheap that felt excellent on the skin and very relaxing:

Cucumber masque on the cheap, good stuff

It may not be the same experience as going to the spa, but it will be as relaxing as you make it. And plus, you don’t have to wait 🙂
