Product recommendation: Lush’s Angels on Bare Skin facial cleanser

I bought some of this stuff a few months ago, and truly, of all the cleansers I’ve tried over the years, this is the best one of the bunch in my humble opinion. Made of all natural ingredients by Lush including ground almonds, Lavender, Chamomile, kaoline clay, etc., this stuff really evens out skin tone and calms any acne-related flare ups. And, it’s great for all skin types and smells divine.

Because this product is made of natural ingredients, it does have an expiration date. Not that it doesn’t work or goes bad if it expires, but it exists.

If I lived near a Lush store, I’d be stopping by more often than I do Sephora. Fortunately for my husband and my bank account, I live pretty far away so ordering online is the only way I can indulge.  If you are fortunate to live near one, any time you accumulate 3 of their pots you can clean them out and bring them to the store, where they’ll give you a free masque. The company is big on environmental causes so it’s their way of rewarding their customers for recycling.

Product recommendation: Body Band Pull Up Band

If you have a pull up or chin up bar in your local house of Swole (for me it’s my home gym) and can’t seem to pull yourself all the way up yet, these bands are a great assistance. They’re pretty sturdy, even for tricep dips. I think you can use them for other types of exercises too, but for me this is the extent of it.

I have read that in the next P90X series there will be more focus on this type of bodyweight exercise, so if you’re looking to do that type of thing, these Body Bands will come in very handy.

JFK: what to believe

November 24, 2013 Leave a comment

November 22, 2013 marked 50 years to the day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. As the years go by, the controversial nature of most political situations fades, but in this case, the controversy is as strong as ever. Who really killed JFK? Did Lee Harvey Oswald act alone? How could the single bullet theory actually be contrived by the Warren Commission and be accepted for many years? Were the Cubans involved, or was this retaliation because Kennedy didn’t want to start the Vietnam war?

A million questions exist as well as a million theories. Everyone has their own opinion on it, but what many can agree on is JFK didn’t deserve to have his brains blown out on that Dallas street 50 years ago.

I wonder what type of country we’d be living in now if he wasn’t killed in the name of “the greater good”.

The other day I took some time out and viewed Oliver Stone’s “JFK” for the first time in many years. It still holds up well. It’s available on Amazon Instant if you’ve got about 3 hours to spare.

Many amazing actors in this film, including Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Costner, Sissy Spacek, Jack Lemmon, Kevin Bacon, and so many others.

School is almost over, and yet there is still work to be done (update)

Yanno, taking six credit hours doesn’t sound like much, but when you consider the amount of work involved, it’s crazy.

To whit (between now and graduation in December):

  • Master’s project thesis paper (about 20 pages)
  • Independent research paper (also about 20 pages)
  • Developing e-commerce site, coded in PHP, CSS, and HTML
  • Writing a business plan

Right now I’m a shadow of my former self, but it’s temporary. It’s my last semester for my master’s in I.T. so there is definitely a light at the end of the five week tunnel, that’s for sure.

After graduation I swear I’ll be blogging more regularly with excellent recipes, movie recommendations, technology stuff, and whatever else comes up as blogworthy. Till then, cheers!
