Highlights from the Chick Fil A Bowl (TAMU vs. Duke)

If you didn’t get a chance to watch the Aggies in action on New Years’ Eve, check out the above video. The first half of the game left me in a state of bummer-dom, but the second half redeemed the Aggies and Johnny Manziel. I was yelling at the TV so much I scared the cats.

I know rumor has it that Manziel may put his name in for the NFL draft, but I’m really hoping he waits it out one more year. Sure, College Station is a really small town, there’s no money opportunities for a college QB due to NCAA rules and his every exploit is scrawled all over the Interwebs minutes after he’s out getting fiesty. Wait, where was I going with this?

Oh, right. Manziel should stay in Aggieland one more year!

That’s this old Ag’s hope. If Manziel feels like breaking up with the Aggies to run with the big boys I totally understand, but he’d have one hell of a final season if he stayed. And, I might be able to get up to College Station for a home game. That would be sweet.

Coach Kevin Sumlin has been making miracles happen in Aggieland, not seen since the glory days of R.C. Slocum. Coach Sumlin has committed to TAMU for another year, and I’m secure in the idea that he can train up a more than adequate replacement for Manziel. But you have to admit, they make a helluva team.

Absolutely an excellent game. Unfortunately, he’s already declared for the NFL 😦

Sumlin’s an excellent coach though. I’m sure the Aggies will have a great upcoming season.
